Recue and Jolea are moving forward with their live set. ‘In the Attic’ is a rehearsal session they recorded at a gloomy penthouse/loft during a rainy September night. The first cut from it is a track called Blame which is a remake of a track originally released by Jolea on her debut album Ghostly Figures. The track has a nicely building energy growing towards an intense end and the beautiful dark footage by Theofanis Kavvadas compliments it perfectly, so we have to say we’re more than stoked to share it with you! If you like what you hear, you might be happy to notice the track has been made freely downloadable on soundcloud.

Recue and Jolea have also shared Bits and Pieces of the whole live set they are performing. So expect to see/hear more of it.

We’re happy to announce that Recue and Jolea are joining forces, packing their bags, and heading for live gigs together. The combined set brings together the best of both worlds: Jolea’s stellar vocals and reflective songwriting with Recue’s spacious sound design and detailed pounding beat work. Different versions of a collaborative track called ‘We’re Not Like the Most’ have been featured for example on Kid Kameleon’s guest mix done for Tom Ravenscroft’s BBC6 show and Recue’s own acclaimed ‘Do Not Disturb’ live performance. Results of Recue’s and Jolea’s work together will be released later this year as an EP right here on Audiobaum, so needless to say, we’re more than excited!

Seems like Recue has caught everyone (apparently even himself) off guard with a mind blowing half hour improvisational live set. According to his own words it is “A thing that started out as a spur of the moment and slightly tongue in cheek idea, but the excess time at hand polished it into a complete set of music. The live set is built around misuse of 90s hip hop and pop music vocals in a hotel room somewhere in Sweden. It combines bits and pieces of unreleased Recue material and full on improvisation with awkward moments of realizing what the vocal track being tinkered with actually is. So it’s an odd mutation of a mixtape, mashup and bootleg remixes.”
